Food at The Hostelrie

Our head chef, Graham Wride, has a wealth of experience in the hospitality trade, and has been a chef in a number of pubs and restaurants, most recently the Green Man at Fownhope. With his team in the kitchen he is now developing his own style at the Hostelrie at Goodrich offering quintessentially English pub food in the Bar and a more exciting Specials Menu.
The Hostelrie at Goodrich is committed to supporting local farmers and sources many of its ingredients straight from the fields of Herefordshire.

Regularly changing but seasonal menus offer tasty traditional dishes including in the bar our famous homemade pies and burgers; in the Restaurant the award winning Huntsham Farm Middlewhite pork and fresh fish. A vegetarian option is always available in both Bar and Restaurant.
The Hostelrie stocks quality ales and ciders sourced from nearby suppliers and micro-breweries and our house ales, Wye Valley Bitter and the ‘Butty Bach’, are popular with locals and visitors alike. The wines on our expanding wine list offer excellent value as well as good drinking and are supplied by the renowned independent family run wine merchants, Tanners.

The Bar

The Bar offers a cosy and rustic setting for eating our classic pub food and enjoying local ales, ciders and wine in front of the log burning stove.

Sunday lunchtimes are now better and busier than ever with our new two or three course menu with three courses for £18.95, all produced with the finest local produce served from 12 until 8pm.

Very pleasant staff, comfortable en-suite rooms, good food and beer for a stay with a group of friends. Set in maintained grounds with off road car park in very pleasant village. Very much dog friendly.

We had dinner and lunch here with some of our family who were staying here. The food was absolutely delicious. I stayed here a few years ago and the food was nothing special but now it's amazing. The only issue is I found the portions were quite small and didn't fill me up but that meant I had to have pudding! Oh what a shame! The sticky toffee pudding is the best I have ever had in my life!

Very helpful staff and comfortable bed! Staff had reserved a table for us as we were arriving late. Situation very close to main route but village wonderfully quiet and hotel had lots of character. Good garden too.
